Senior Deputy Marsha Williams (NCLEWA President) is now a NCDOJ Commissioner

On November 4, 2022, Senior Deputy Marsha Williams has sworn in as a new NC DOJ Commissioner. As the NCLEWA President, she has taken on this new position's duties, roles, and responsibilities. Congratulations!

NCJA's Leadership Institute - Session V

The NCJA created the Leadership Institute which is a 120-hour course focused on leadership development and tackling issues that are most relevant to today's criminal justice leaders. Congratulations to Captain Morrison-Brown for winning the Heart of a Leader Award. This person is chosen by their peers as the one who most demonstrates the attributes of the five leadership practices on which the course is focused. These practices are modeling the way, inspiring a shared vision, challenging the process, enabling others to act, and encouraging the heart.

In August 2022, WSPD Chief Catrina Thompson was nominated by President J. Biden as to be a U.S. Marshal for the Middle District of North Carolina.
